We all have our own insecurities, our fears which make us anxious. At this point, we suddenly have the feeling like we can't control it, we start to feel tense, our heart rate increases. This is where the fight or flight mode kicks in. It's all comes down to how you cope with the situation. Take a step back from reality and take deeps breaths, whatever technique works for you. It has been a proven fact that stress and anxiety are one of the most common triggers in epileptic or non-epileptic seizures. The fight or flight moments can take a toll on you, yes. But how you learn to block it out, not letting take over you. I learnt over the years that you can't let the seizures get the better of you, it's definitely easier said than done. Once one seizure starts you have no idea if you are going to have another and if its going to be worse the next time. I know those feelings all to well, I think we all have at one point in our lives. We have to fight this good fight against this condition, the seizures, the aftermath and side effects all that at once really it not the best combination, we just want to curl up and be like sleeping beauty and fall into a deep sleep, but we start to get scared of what might happen next. It's a normal human reaction. My advice to all to you is when you have the fight or flight moments, look after you before anything else, take your time away from reality listen to music. We all experience the fight or flight you are not alone.
