Writer's picture: Emily SkogstadEmily Skogstad

One in four people around the world will be affected by mental health. The lack of understanding of these issues is frustating. This is serious issue in today's society, more needs to be done to help prevent this, you see it all over social media about celebrities who have taken their lives. Mental health can knock you down making it hard to get back up, just remember it is ok to not be ok. It is ok to seek help. It is ok to speak out. Please do not suffer in silence. Silence is painful, soul destroying and will never help you. You are not letting your parents down if you tell them you’re struggling. There are helplines to contact. It's not a sign of weakness it's a sign of strength. Epilepsy and mental health can be caused by some anti-epileptic drugs and the stress the seizures can cause us. Just remember to take one step at a time, you are strong remind yourself that everyday. To people reading this whether if you have Epilepsy or not. Remember you are important apart of a lot of peoples lives and people love and care about you.
